So about a week or so ago I wrote about how Sri Lanka is one of the many places on my wish list. I think I need to be one of those people all over the world who are winning millions of dollars/pounds/whatever in the lottery. I saw a week or so ago that someone in the UK won like 60 something million pounds, the other day someone in NZ won about 11million NZD and earlier in the year a lucky New Zealander won 26million NZD! That is going to be my new job; professional lottery winner, just to support my travel needs.
Anyway back to the point.
As I was looking through the news on the nzherald (does anyone else always read the news from their home country even though they aren’t there?) I found this photo article about an elephant orphanage called Pinnawala in Sri Lanka which is a major tourist attraction and super good cause. It is home to 83 elephants and it has been announced that 15 baby elephants have been born at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. How cool is that? There is just something so majestic and interesting about elephants and their babies are super cute to boot, just looking at the photos makes me want to hop on a plane and go hug them! So not only does Sri Lanka boast a rich culture, some amazing tourist attractions and beautiful tropical weather but it also has baby elephants (and big ones) too! Who wouldn’t want to go visit this amazing little country?
