I know this is like my, what, third post on elephants but I just can’t help it. They are something far and in between in NZ and absolutely adorable. So after seeing this set of photos floating around the internet and having my heart almost melt over the sheer cuteness of it I became curious. Where on earth can you see baby elephants or any elephants for that matter on the beach? Call me slow but when I think of elephants I usually think of African Safaris not pristine beaches, so I decided to investigate.
Although I don’t know who took these photos or where they’re from, after a trusty google search and a couple of you tube videos I discovered that frolicking-elephant-on-the-beach spotting seems to be especially good in India and Thailand. As if I didn’t already want to go to both these places; delicious food, incredible culture, beautiful beaches, tropical weather and frolicking baby elephants. Asia is becoming more and more appealing to me every day. It may be time to relocate…
So what do you think? Is it worth taking a trip to Asia to build sandcastles with baby elephants? I sure do think so!

It’s worth going….. and take me with you
Rachel, the photos from ‘Lucky’ were taken by Willy Thuan in Bang Tao Beach (Phuket, Thailand).
